If you know me you know that I live for routine. I have to be in a certain mood to be spontaneous and is that really being spontaneous then?? I don't think so. Anyway I feel that routine for Adeline is a good thing, though I try not to be routine with everything because it's good for the kiddo to learn that change is okay. So every night Adeline gets a bath. I don't give her a total soap and scrub everynight but she seems to enjoy bathtime so much right now that if it's just a bath to get that last bit of energy out then so be it. Seems as though getting that last bit of energy out is pretty important and quite entertaining to mama.
Adeline taking a bath includes a lot of splashing, sucking on the wash cloth, knawing on the rubber ducky's bill and 'talking.' I let her do her thing as she looks up at me and gives me her best cheeky smile. Seriously, it's so adorable I can't even explain. The bath seems to calm her and she seems to look foward to it. It is so amazing that I can be walking her upstairs and she is wailing but as soon as we go into the bathroom she is all smiles. It's like she knows it's bathtime. Her time to kick and splash and have a ball. Now this is only the somewhat entertaining part.
For one reason or another I started to take her out of the bath, wrap her up and then turn her around to face the bathroom mirror to make faces. You really do have to be there but it is so hilarious. When I first started doing this with her, she would just smile, which in itself was adorable but then she started playing this sorta peek-a-boo game with the mirror. We start off by facing the mirror, she gets this toothless grin and then burrys her face in the crook of my neck. (All smiles and squeals of course). This will continue for quite sometime until I realize that I really need to get her to bed. It is moments like this that I realize just how lucky I am to have such an amazing little girl.
And that my friend is what a blessing is! :)
