Thanksgiving weekend!

Thanksgiving weekend seems so far away now. It's crazy that I actually had a four day weekend. i don't even remember everything that went on. But I do remember Thanksgiving. Walking into my aunt's home on Thanksgiving bombards me with memories. The one thing that i miss about Thanksgiving mornings is waking up to a Turkey cooking. Even though my family would go over to my aunt's house for Thanksgiving, my parents would still cook a turkey. OH the smell, lovely! Back to this year... two of us are pregnant and it's really fun. It's like a new chapter has started in this family's book. We are only a few weeks apart so we were able to chat about what we are experiencing, cravings, pains, but not names. :) Neither of us are sharing names. I like it that way. Meal time was filled with laughter, the good ol days talks and a few pokes to each other. There is still a 'kids' table which makes me laugh since the youngest 'kid' is in their early 20s. BUT there are two grand kids with two more on the way. Guess we'll have to make a 'younger kids' table in the upcoming years. After dinner chats always make me laugh. The parents tend to talk about 'mother' (our grandma, bless her heart, always missing her). There was a little chat about going to the meat market and buying meat for the week.... simple but something that sticks in their mind. It was a good Thanksgiving and I am so very excited for next year's which will probably be filled with baby passing, goo goo babble, and laughter that I haven't heard for a while that babies tend to bring on.
After thanksgiving G and I stopped over at my parents house to give our nephew his bday presents. He is turning four and if you look away for one second he's gone in a flash. He is go go go and almost nothing can keep his attention. BUT he does crack me up with his 'one liners'
Friday G had to work and I went to one store and easily got what i needed and was out in no time. It was great! I'm sure it won't be as easy in the upcoming years but this year has been pretty easy for gifts. Later in the day I did go shopping with my mom to show her boots I need/want. Then Friday afternoon the tree went up along with the ornaments. I love to look at ornaments and talk about where they came from and the memories behind them. I am looking forward to the day when I can tell my kids about this ornament or that ornament. :)
Saturday was my nephews bday party. It was at a bowling ally which didn't keep my nephews attention very long...surprise surprise. He did have a great time running around though. G and I found the arcade (much like a chuckie cheese) and had a good time in there with my mom. My nephew joined us and had a blast in the arcade as well. So much to do in such a little room. lol. I had to laugh at my mom since she even got suckered in to playing deal or no deal. She saw that G one a large amount of tickets and well, she wanted to do the same so she did and she won big as well. Saturday night was we cleaned and cleaned. And then suddenly it was already Sunday. Sunday I was pretty pooped out but cleaned and organized a couple of rooms. I've realized that I really need to make a drop off at the donation center because I have SO much stuff to get rid of.
Anyway, in a little over a week my in laws will be in town for an early Christmas. I'm so excited. It will be nice to have the whole family here to celebrate Christmas. Now if I can keep the house clean till next week I will be a happy camper. If I could have a 24/7 maid just for the kitchen my life would be pretty complete....lol. That darn kitchen just gets so messy so quickly, I wonder how my mom keeps hers so clean all the time. Some day I'll find out her secret....someday. :)
