Well the week has gone by quickly once again. Wow. It's been an interesting week. One particular morning I got into work and looking through my inbox I had an email from HR... Great. So I open it up and there it is... "mandatory shut down" .. o wonderful. A few months ago we got the same email saying we had to take mandatory vacation on December 22-24th, okay I can deal with that. Now, we have to take off December 29- Jan 2nd. After frantically calculating I find I have just enough vacation to leave me with a measly few hours into the next year. This is just fricken wonderful. Basically I'm screwed out of vacation for the next year. Anyway after being pissed off about the whole situation I took a step back and tried to give it a more positive look. I've realized that I have a job and need to be happy with that. There will be plenty of time to take vacations and days off. Not only do I have a job but I have health insurance and other benefits. So there, I*'m thankful for that. My one manager was very sympathetic which helped me out too. I really appreciated him asking me if I had enough time built up and what I am going to do and telling me that its a sucky situation. Then we chatted a bit about that and I told him, well hey at least I have a job. He agreed and we went on with the day.
As for other stuff this week... Christmas card making is on the way as well as collecting addresses. Along with that was volleyball. Wednesday league went well and Thursday did not. We are having a hard time with guys this season. We have one guy that coaches and one that just quit on us because he gets hurt too much. So that leaves us in the dumps for the next few weeks trying to find subs... ahhhH! No fun but again you deal with what is deal to you. We've been pretty lucky finding subs except this week was pretty hard. We ended up with 6 people but we did not do well... I'll leave it at that.
