End of Summer...State Fair

So the end of summer has come and I sure felt it this morning. Granted I love fall but I'm just not ready for it just yet. I obviously have not kept up with my blog but eh that's what happens in the summer. This summer has been great but way too fast. The past month flew by!

My running has taken a bit of a turn and I"m trying to put some more variety into my workouts now. I have noticed a plateau which if you've ever experienced one you know they suck! Anywho last night I did run, elliptical, run...workout. It felt great till the last 5 minutes of the workout. My legs burned but I take that as a good sign! I'm hoping to keep that up and actually see some results from that.

Went to the great Minnesota get together this past weekend. The day was beautiful! Greg and I got there around 9 and it was much busier than I had anticipated for a somewhat early start. We started off with some bfast (a scotch egg) ...which was alright but I preferred the fruit smoothie that we got along with that. Then we went to the international bazaar which was remodeled. The place looked very nice. Afterwards we stooped at the Produce Exchange stand and got some bananas and nectarines...I know, I know... you don't buy that stuff at the state fair but if you would of had a sample you would of bought some too! We met up with my best friends for some of the time at the fair too. It was nice to just walk around and chat. I think I made it to ever building, I think. I'm always very impressed with the fine arts building. My favorite this year was a piece of artwork that spelled out the word "Honesty" and basically it was rolled up $1 bills put into chicken wire....get the meaning? :) It was pretty darn creative if you ask me. After a stop at the corn stand for the girls we walked around some more...and some more. Then to my favorite stand we headed....Sweet Martha's Cookies! Yes it is probably a waste to spend that much money on a bucket of cookies but it's a tradition to get a bucket of cookies walk over to the all you can drink milk and eat enough of the cookies so that you can close the lid on the bucket. So that's what we did. We ended up parting from the girls after the cookies and Greg and I went to the milk stand and chilled for a bit. We went on one ride and played one game...in which I actually got a MN Wild Teddy Bear! Yes I was like a five year old girl all giddy and happy that I got a MN Wild Teddy....it's the simple things...ha! We actually made it to one other stand which was the deep fried pickles and they were pretty darn good. It was a good day at the fair and I'm sad that I couldn't of stayed even longer.

That's all for now....
