I've decided to write a post even though i'm at work and should be doing something. The fact of the matter is i'm like the only one here because everyone else has vacation to take and are taking the afternoon off. I'm so jealous but my day will come. Anyways work has been pretty fast today but yet of course nothing to exciting. So here comes my boring blog : coffee
This morning I could not, for the life of me, wake up. So i decided to look around the office building for some coffee. Lo and behold there it was....wonderful beautiful brewing coffee. Yea, hold that thought for a second, the coffee....bleck! It was horrible! Which made me come to the realization that I am a coffee SNOB to a point anyways. WHY? Okay I hated coffee up till a couple of years ago when I was a PT and worked the a.m. shift where I had to be at work at 4:45. Needless to say I was so tired all the time at work. I knew that I needed some caffeine or something because water was not doing the trick. So I dove in and started to drink over sugared coffee. It wasn't too bad; I mean I've always loved the smell of it so the taste wasn't too horrible...as long as there was enough sugar in it to cover up that bitter coffee flavor. So there was the start to that bad habit. Time went by and my best friend introduced me to Caribou Coffee. I remember my first coffee from there....the Mint Condition. I remember taking the first taste and thinking to myself, it wasn't too bad... just a little strong on the coffee flavor...not enough chocolate mint flavor. Sadly soon i was addicted to the over flavored, over sized and over priced beverage. I couldn't get enough of it and I even branched out once in awhile to try some other drinks that Caribou had. The next thing I know I have a coffee maker which was great I could have coffee whenever I wanted but geesh coffee isn't all that cheap and plus I couldn't make it like they do. I tried my best to make my coffee like Caribou did and dealt with it. Well last Christmas Greg and I got a bean grinder, espresso maker as well as a new coffee maker. This seemed wonderful and all. I mean we get to grind our own beans, brew strong espresso's or just good ol coffee....the options were endless. Now to get to my point of the story...long long very drawn out story is this...
So I found the coffee brewing station in an office near my own office. I decided to take a cup for myself and when I got back to my desk I put my share of cocoa in it to make it more of a mocha...well it sucked and you know why it sucked??? Because I AM A COFFEE SNOB. Here's my problem...the coffee I had today was good ol Folgers....old ground up coffee! Having the ability to ground my own caribou beans minutes before I have my coffee really has changed my opinion on coffee. It tastes so much better when it's a bit fresher. When the beans are not only roasted but ground on the same day and then brewed is glorious ... I hate myself, I mean seriously....i expect more out of myself. A coffee snob... how pathetic is that!? Owell such is life and such is an aimless blog that has no importance to my life nor anyone reading. Hopefully it was somewhat entertaining and well it did take up some time here at work. ha...
