Busy Weekend

Once again my weekend was packed full. I didn't mind it at all this weekend because it didn't include any projects with the house!
Friday: I made veggie pizza and cookies to take to the 'end of the season' volleyball party. The party itself was a blast and of course full of memories. The party was nice and small. Everyone that was there was on the team or a sub for our team which made for a good time because we barely see each other out of the volleyball scene. The party went how they usually do....lots of laughs, drinks and a little drama. Don't know when we will all get together again but hopefully sometime this summer!

Saturday: I had to drag myself out of bed around 7am and due to the fact that there was some alcohol comsumption the night before this was a bit on the difficult side. I, along with Audrey, my nephew Eli and their two dogs roxie and grizzly were taking part in the Humane Society's walk for animals. The walk was a bit chilly but the sun was shinning which made it feel that much warmer. The dogs did well which was suprising because Griz is never on a leash and weighs 120 pounds oh and he's all pup and all muscle! There had to of been thousands of dogs there. Seemed like there were a lot more participants then last year. Anyways, the walk was over at noonish and we headed to my parents house for lunch. I took a short, much needed, catnap after eating since I was not feeling too well. Greg and I made our first big purchase in a long time too. We have been saving up for a nice video camera for quite awhile now. So on Saturday we went and finally purchased one. The checkout guy probably thought we were nuts since we had about 10 Best Buy giftcards! Oh yea, that was great! I'm excited to be able to use the camera but right now there isn't much to tape i guess. We do have Gabby but no kids...so I guess we will just video of our nephew growing up for now. Greg and I also watched the movie "Crash" on Saturday evening.

Sunday: We went to the Living Green Expo. It was a great experience. I'm not a tree-hugger but I do also want to respect the world we live in. I learned a lot of new things on how to keep the house more eco-friendly as well as products to keep out of the house....and lot of other cool stuff. too. The day was absolutely beautiful so once we were done there we went to Nelson's Cheese Deli. We picked up a sandwich and drove to Como park where we enjoyed our lunch and the lovely sun! Greg and I then went home and I changed to go running. Greg took gabby around the lake while I ran it a couple times. Gabby was so tired after her walk that she actually stepped into the lake to drink some water. If you know our dog she hates water and see's it only as a beverage and not something to swim or play in....it is torture to her to have a bath. So when she stepped into the lake to get some water I was absolutely shocked. She stood in there for quite sometime...probably learned that you can cool off really well if you just step in water. lol. Anyways we took it easy for the rest of the evening until 9pm when I had a volleyball game. It was a late one and a little chilly but much better than last week when it was snowing. We won again! we are now 2-0!! Wooohoo.
