Greg's family was in town and left Tuesday. We celebrated Christmas as well as Kathryn's baptism. It sure was a busy week but we also ended up snowed in on Saturday. I didn't mind one bit...the snow was amazing. I couldn't believe the wind and the constant snow falling and falling and falling. It just wouldn't stop! It sure was pretty and with all the wind the snow made some pretty neat designs as it blew around on the ground. I snapped a few pictures that I'll have to try and see about uploading if I remember.
Needless to say I was pretty exhausted with all of the cooking, shopping, eating, and all other activities going on. On Tuesday evening G and I did absolutely did nothing. I was going to clean up a bit but the energy tank was at 'E' so we just snuggled on the couch with Gabby and enjoyed some quiet time with the TV. The rest of the week went by quickly yet slow at the same time. I cleaned up the house and brought down the next round of gifts to set under the tree. I had a few more presents to wrap and had to edit my 'still need to do' list. This included a few more gifts to buy and of course working on the nursery.
Friday I had my glucose test....passed! So blessed that I don't have the diabetes. After my doctor's appointment I went out to Caribou and chilled there for a bit. Its always fun (in my opinion) to take in the life of a coffee shop. There are so many different people coming and going. Some stay to have a meeting, catch up, bible study, or just to sit and get away from the commotion of life. I had my lovely Mint Condition in hand and enjoyed their chicken sausage bfast sammie. So delicious! After Caribou I decided to try and get the rest of my shopping done and I have to say that I did pretty well. Last weekend was the "Snownami" so many people didn't get to do any shopping. I failed to think of that. As I entered the parking lot full of cars I took a deep breath and pumped myself up for another black Friday like shopping episode. Store #1, it wasn't all that bad. The lines were quite short and that amount of people in the store was bearable. I had to laugh that the majority of the population in these stores were women. Granted that national Christmas shopping day for men tends to be Dec 23/24....no offense guys! I was in and out of Store #1 withing a half hour. The second store was pure chaos. Thankfully I knew exactly what I needed to buy. I was going to look around and window shop but the chaos was too much so I ended up out of that store within 10 minutes! Store #3 and last store for the day. The place wasn't too packed but the lines were a bit sluggish in moving. I didn't find everything that I was looking for but o'well. So my shopping was pretty successful for that day!
This weekend was busy busy. G had to work on Friday so I wrapped a couple of more presents. Caught up on laundry and actually had a pretty quiet day. Okay somewhat quiet. My dad came over and remodeled the nursery closet. It's so amazing. I LOVE IT! So even though I haven't washed any clothes for our little girl I hung up a bunch of clothing....mostly dresses just to see what it's going to be like to have a little girl closet. :) It was fun. I can't wait to fill up the closet with all sorts of things. My LOVE when it comes to baby clothes is crochets hats, headbands, and diaper covers. I have maybe two headbands and have been constantly looking on Etsy but haven't purchased any quite yet. I really should get going on that. My girl may not be a shoe girl but she'll be a hat and hair accessory girl! :) Needless to say I had fun working on her closet. I'm thinking that with in the next couple of weeks we'll start hanging up stuff on the walls and finishing off the room....so exciting!
G got home late on Saturday so we just chilled and had a quiet dinner. Sunday we went out to a few stores. I had to take some things back as well. The day was busy once again and got lots of things done. G put up the linen closet shelving unit so I filled that up as much as possible. It's a type A's dream right now, but I'm sure it will get disorganized as time goes on. For now... it's lovely!
