All weekend it rained. Okay I take that back it rained in the evenings on Friday and Saturday. I actually kinda enjoyed it. Greg and I were on our way to our FIRST EVER Saints game. We figured it was going to be delayed so we prepared for that. As we sat in our car outside of the field it started to downpour. It was actually coming down in buckets. After a while it lightening up so we went to the stadium to find some grub to eat. As we found something to eat we also then found a place to stand and eat under some shelter. We would of sat in our seats but just like the new TCF stadium it is open. Don't get me started on how ridiculous the thought of an open air stadium in Minnesota is...in my opinion, of course! :) Anyways...needless to say the game was cancelled. Instead of going home we ventured down the road a couple of miles to Izzy's ice cream. This is one of the best ice cream parlors, but they are many here in good ol MN. As we drove there the rain poured down and there was even a little hail. Forward on!! As we waited at the stoplight the streets were flooded and the water was up about a 1/4 of the way on the tires on some cars. BUT we made it to Izz's and that's all that matters, folks. We enjoyed our ice cream and then headed back home. The rain had tapered off some so it was an easy drive home. We should of watched Twister or something more storm themed but we ended up watching Law Abiding Citizen... it was pretty okay.
Saturday we had a wedding to go to at the James J. Hill Library. It was beautiful. The ceremony as well as the recption was at the library. My friend from HS was getting married and we had just recently reconnected. It was so nice of her to invite Greg and I to their wedding. Anyway the wedding was beautiful as well as the bride. They center pieces were flowers on some tables and then others were stacks of books. It was a very cute idea. Her and her hunny had gone to Borders and bought some various conversation started type of books or coffee table books. I thought it was a great idea. Food was great and the cupcakes were amazing (a little dry but still amazing) Of course it started to down pour again but luckily everything was held inside.
Other parts of the weekend included laundry and yard work.....so very exciting. :)
