State Fair Days!
Well it's that time of year... Summer is coming to a close and the State Fair is in high gear. Greg and I went on Friday. I took a half day at work and we spent the rest of the day at the fair. I have to say that I love the fair and I'm not even big on the food part... * gasp * I just love the atmosphere. People running from food stand to food stand or trying to win the biggest animal they can for their child, there's just something about that atmosphere that just makes you forget the big world out there. I think we made it around the fair three or four times. We didn't play any of the games but enjoyed watching people try to win. We did enjoy some of the food, but not much. Greg's favorite fair food is the scotch egg .. which was the first place we went to since he was having that as his "breakfast." Funny this is, out of the 100,000+ people there we ran into my aunt, cousin, and my cousin's little boy. I couldn't believe it. It was nice to see my cousin since she was in from Chicago and wouldn't of been able to see her otherwise. After that Greg and i got a couple more food items and enjoy the atmosphere some more. We finally ended our day at the best booth at the fair (in my opinion)... sweet Martha's cookies. Yep, it's a tradition. We go get a bucket, well actually I go and get a bucket because we found that for some reason my bucket gets more filled. :) So I get a bucket and then we proceed to the all you can drink Milk stand. We find a place to sit and eat until we are ready to go and pass out on the bus, which is exactly what we did. It was a successful fair visit and we are looking forward to our next round this coming weekend! :)
